The Partners and technical staff of Graham & Woolnough are accredited non-exclusive Several major classification associates. They also carry out material and industrial surveys.
Ship surveys include Classification of hull, machinery, refrigeration, load line, safety equipment, safety construction, MARPOL, fitness certificates for the carriage of liquefied gases and dangerous chemicals in bulk, dry docking, seaworthiness, damage, automatic machinery and cargo gear. In addition, material and industrial surveys include inspections and tests of various components, equipment, materials, machinery and containers.
Graham & Woolnough has conducted surveys on other industrial items and has recently completed the survey of construction and plan approval of a 40 tonne container crane for the Port of Barbados. Graham & Woolnough were successful in obtaining this contract as a result of experience in Design and Supervision of Construction of Floating Cranes. The company is well equipped to carry out similar surveys of industrial equipment during construction, and for general inspection and maintenance. The company has also been involved in the survey and modification of dock gates for the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company, involving a detailed examination of the gates which were being removed and re-fitted onto another site. Graham & Woolnough carried out the necessary steel structural calculations and drawings, and assisted while the gates fitted into the new location.
Graham and Woolnough is asked on many occasions to carry out condition surveys for Insurance purposes, Pre-Purchase Surveys, and On-Hire/Off-Hire Surveys of ships. These are followed up with Details Reports and photographs as and when required. |
